Certifire Scheme
CERTIFIRE Scheme
Paling Joiners joined the BWF-CERTIFIRE scheme in 2003.
All participating members of the BWF-CERTIFIRE Fire Door and Doorset Scheme are rigorously assessed and audited, providing specifiers with the added security and confidence in the products being selected. Being a part of the scheme enables Paling Joiners to supply a range of 3rd party certificated products to ensure that all involved in the specification, installation, inspection and use of fire doors are confident that BWF-CERTIFIRE Scheme products are fit for purpose. A fire door is a vital safety device engineered to save lives and property. Its correct specification, fitting and maintenance are the responsibility of each and every person involved in the process from specification to maintenance.

In todays market, our customers are safe in the knowledge that they can rely on Paling Joiners to supply doors & door sets as and when required. We offer a ‘while you wait’ service on standard sized vision panels. This enables the customer to supply an existing door, we will cut & fit a vision panel, the door can then be returned and re-hung. This service is an excellent facility for schools etc. where a door must be back in position prior to being populated, ensuring fire integrity of the building.
Piece of Mind
If a door is modified in any way by a non-member, the door will be deemed un-certified and not fit for purpose. This is classed as interfering with the integrity. Paling Joiners follow strict test evidence and procedures allowing the modification of a certified door blank, and retaining its certification. Having an approved, certified door or door set assures piece of mind.
Sustainability
The Forest Stewardship Council, or FSC, was established in 1993 to develop standards for responsible forest management - a credible global system to certify responsibly produced timber. The FSC operates a chain of custody certification system so that the source of timber can be traced back to its point of origin and forest management certification based on a set of global principles and criteria. Since its beginning more than 130 million hectares in more than 80 countries have been certified to FSC Forest Management standards. Globally, FSC-certified businesses sell several thousand products that carry the FSC trademark. The FSC is an independent, non-government and non-profit organisation in 46 countries.
Paling Joiners can offer FSC certified goods supplied as FSC mix 70% under the following chain of custody registrations:
